i understand the feelings of the lieutanant.

many muslims-not the bright ones- have the same feeling of superiority. its the only way they can live with their fanaticism, ignorance and stupidity.

one can only feel contempt for them

I have read extracts of this book and have found it to be a well written book. It's hard to imagine how Aatish (which means fire in Urdu) would have felt when his father had refused to meet him and hung up on him. The patience he displayed is commendable given that he was a young man of 22 at that time. His description of the Mango man and his estate in Sindh is interesting but I could not find his description of his mansion. I was looking for it but I guess he left it out. Maybe its in the book and I have not read the book yet.

It is sad that Aatish is neither a Sikh nor a Muslim. To be deprived of love of God is unfortunate.
