Truly, reading this landmark judgement is a rare occassion when one is thrilled by an old idea. This idea of freedom and its promise in our Constitution must not be sacrificed at the altar of expediency.
One almost feels as if the issue of Gay rights was only a spoke in the wheel of freedom which has been let roll once again by the high court.

Dont worry guys there will be a rollback of the Courts Judgement. Remember Shah Banu case.

Congress then had 425 seats in the parliament.

Are we swallowing the same poison which has broken the social fabric of the western world?

This far reaching 'just' judgement was long over due. Decriminalizing does not mean approval. We don't put adulterers in jail but we surely don't approve their behaivor, do we? And most religions frown on adulterers just as strongly. Sooner than later the bilogical science will prove that homosexuality is genetic rather than acqrired trait.

I just can't understand why religious "leaders" just can't mind their own business. India is a secular nation of believers and non-believers. Why do these self-proclaimed heads of religious institutions think they have a right to decide who others sleep or live with. It is none of their bloody damn business. I can even forgive the Mullahs (for, their agenda has always been to take world to the stone age - they know nothing better) or the Swamis (a bunch of I-too-can-cause-riots morons who neither know about how free indian civilization was nor care to know and accept what a free people we were) - but never the Christian Church. Time and again, their policies are being proven to be wrong and out of sync with times. They have opposed free thought and science over ages and know very well that its a matter of time before they accept this too. Yet, they want to play party poopers for some cheap minutes of shame on national television and then some. For all I care, they can go to hell with their theories of morality.

India has finally woken up. This is only the begining many more shocks are in the offing which we should learn to live with.It looks as if it was only yesterday when kissing in Indian fims was tabooed, Today we have surpassed the west in our movies. We should totally ignore the noises which some our characters are making.
