1. My identity is irrelevant to the discussion. Please argue on points and counter-points.
2. The reason for my pdeudo-identity is that it helps me draw a curtain between my professional and personal life.
3. If you were smart enough, you will be able to trace my identity, name and city, albeit with some efforts. Every footprint of ours is stored somewhere on the internet.

Sorry Mam I have no spine !!
Mr. Ashok Kumar Ghai,
If you have any spine, comment on what is happening in Mumbai instead of posting BS on Charminar. Very insightful posts have been written by people like Kiran, BVG Rao etc, which shows that they care about their city.
In response to Mr. Apte, why is it unusual, that you see a section of people who speak Marathi, being denied jobs, and not that Tata & sons. has their main office, in Mumbai, and not as I felt in Kolkata, in the past? There is no office in Mumbai, that has no head office for the region, or nation. Today, Mumbai is like New York. It is impossible to find a manufacturing unit, or factory, within Mumbai. There were mills in Mumbai, manufacturing cotton. It seems, everyone decided, that the mills should not be there. The idea is, that Mumbai, being the capital of Maharashtra, has continuous power supply till Thane, and the rest of Maharashtra doesn't get power supply, for many hours a day perhaps. And, also, that resources are diverted to Mumbai, is what the idea might be. But, there is nothing being built within a certain radius of the inner city. There seems to be a situation, that agriculture and industry are in a certain flux. Perhaps, the population in Maharashtra is increasing, and there seems no valid reason to increase industrial output. It might have been seen, that the govt., wanted to promote industry in Vidarbha, and this is the idea that some social workers might have seen, for some dams not being a priority in the process and quality of construction. What is the solution? We have made the situation, and we want to unmake it, or do we?
We will have to wait for few more years to do an impartial assessment of late Shri Balasaheb Thackeray as a politician. But in the context of current discussion after his death, I wish a few points. (1) Despite huge Central government funding for infrastructure projects in our national capital, New Delhi as a metropolitan city is no better than Mumbai or any other metro. No one claims that it to be as cosmopolitan as Mumbai even today. We must consider the impact of migrant population to find reasons, other than Shiv Sena’s political failures, for decay of Mumbai as metro city. (2) There is a need to find out why Bal Thackeray became so hugely popular among the unemployed Maharashtrian youth. A very impartial examination would perhaps reveal that the cosmopolitan Bombay of the sixties and seventies was arrogantly and rabidly anti-Marathi. Secondly, the opportunities in the job market in Mumbai were denied to the Marathi speaking youth in an unfair manner. That was one main reason for Bal Thackeray’s early successes. The leftists did not address this Marathi youth grievance properly. (3) It was a national party, BJP, which gave respectability to Shiv Sena’s politics by making an alliance with it and one cannot overlook this fact.
Bitter but True...Hope Dr Jalil Dawood Parkar becomes a role model for the "suppressed" community! Dr Parkar prves that there merit coupled with hard-work doe snotneed crutches of reservation!
>> "Bal Thackeray, had full faith in a Muslim doctor, who was treating him for the last four years. One might never to able to solve the mystery as to why Thackeray trusted his family's health on Jalil Parkar..." - Anwaar
Thakeray was a wise man. He knew that it is always better to trust a well-educated Muslim, who has come up solely on merit than to go to someone from the quota category, who was gifted a medical degree by the Mandal-raj.
Bal Thackeray, had full faith in a Muslim doctor, who was treating him for the last four years. One might never to able to solve the mystery as to why Thackeray trusted his family's health on Jalil Parkar, but the meticulous chest physician ensured that the trust was never broken. In 2009, when Thackeray had severe breathing difficulty, it was this doctor, trained in the United States, who came to his aid and over a period of time became a permanent visitor to Matoshri -- the Thackeray residence. - TCN.
Not sure how much development SS-BJP government did from 1995-1999 as this government got barely 4.5 years to rule Maharashtra. Mumbai-Pune expressway was definitely Balasaheb Thackeray's brain child. Perhaps this was the most important reason behind IT boom in Pune.
Former PM's IndraKumar Gujral's Son was very upfront sharing about Balasaheb. He said EVERY Punjabi and more so SIKH is mourning with ShivSena as in 1984 --- on 1 request from then President ZailSingh -- Balasaheb gave a word that -- No Sikh will be harmed in Mumbai - Maharashtra --- it happened -- Not a single Sikh was killed in the state....He was VERY OPEN and FRANK when he shared his gratitude for Balasaheb....!!!! he came on almost EVERY channel and made some nasty people very uncomfortable by this praise....!! Dekhane jaise ho gaye the chehere logo ke!!!
Anwaar,
[[Characterizing a whole community as having a particular trait is a feature of racism or communalism.....]]
Who does this better than your community? After all the concept of Kaffir is even sanctioned in your holy book and Muslims love to be called good Muslims by following whatever is prescribed in the book.

Why quote from Sabrang that to today when the sensitvity of the majority of the people in Mumbai is extremely high ??
But it does confirms that you are an hardliner communalist . Thanks for revealing your true face.Till now I thought you were a Secular poster.
Irreverent,

Characterizing a whole community as having a particular trait is a feature of racism or communalism, but that must be a small concern to a self-confessed genocidist like yourself.
>> "His [Bal Thakeray] demise has brought relief to the dalits.... " - Sanket
The Muslims and Dalits share one common (crab) trait. They are more celebratory about the fall of others, than their own betterment. Ever since independence, the rest of the country has been bearing the burden of their regressive, ghettoized mob mentality. It doesn't change, whether these jokers are local goondas or a public sector CEO.
Bal Thakarey was fanatically anti-dalit.
His demise has brought relief to the dalits, who had organized bigger rally than the SS chief.
