Yesterday it was the northern grid which tripped, and it repeated the performance today, with the eastern and north-eastern grids joining in, leaving more than 600 million Indians in 21 states powerless  for several hours today.

The irony could not have been starker, as the power minister Sushilkumar Shinde was elevated as home minister today while the erstwhile home minister, P Chidambaram, was made the finance minister to step into the shoes of Mr Pranab Mukherjee.

As the country struggled with the world's biggest blackout, corporate affairs minister M Veerappa Moily was given the additional charge of power ministry.

A government that is criticized can win an elections but not a government that is ridiculed. Congress led UPA government is being ridiculed.  If elections happen today, it will be only beneficial for congress. Rahul might win from Amethi.

This is called power politics. The reason given for this massive black-out is that some states overdrew. Only we Indians will accept this childish rational given out for nation-wide grid failure. The truth is the largest state in the country has been given carte blanche  to do whatever it pleases . No civilised norms need be followed.  All for  the moribund government in  Delhi to keep living on life-support with whatever or howsoever way they can.

It not possible to draw power beyond central regulatory's allotted quota from the central grid without the central load distribution control room knowing what is happening .That needs some technical manupulation only in collution with them. But the state government would not buy merchant power @ a price somewhere around Rs.13 /unit. So for political support UP is knowingly allowed to over-draw power putting the all of the  three heart-land national power grids at risk. The inevitable has happened as the generators failed to maintain national frequency. If only Northern grid was overloaded, ideally & technically only the northern grid should trip. Drawing unsustainable extra from eastern or north - easterngrid needs co-peration of the central load distribution control room.

So not that this central government does not know coalition dharma. Only they feel comfy with the state government of history-sheeters. So this overdrawal is one more subsidy by the comatose government at centre to somehow survive.

One has to look more in to politics rather than in to  technical reasons for two days consequetive outage of three national grids. Look for greeds rather than in to grids.

Oily Moily as he is known in Karnataka was found wanting as law minister, hence pushed out to Corporate affairs ministry. Now he is found capable of handling power ministry in addition. This is the reward he got for repeatedly calling Sonia as Durga.

When "FALSE- SECULARISM" takes priority over "PERFORMANCE" India will face more of such problems. RUPEE has CRASHED, GRID has FAILED, INFLATION has hit the ROOF, GROWTH is NOSE DIVING, while SCAMS are BOOMING and the PM is POWERLESS.
